Dr. Danica Despotović has a profound background in Signal Processing and a passion for applying machine learning to biomedical signals. Danica’s expertise lies in developing innovative algorithms using smartphone sensors to detect sleep disturbances, combining her knowledge of signal processing and machine learning. During her academic journey, Danica delved into the intricate realm of sleep spindle detection using EEG signals, and exploring best ways to detect RERA patterns in polysomnogrpahy data for a Computing in Cardiology challenge. Her doctoral research at the Institut de la Vision (Sorbonne Université, Paris) showcased her skills in building Bayesian models of retinal neurons, demonstrating a multidisciplinary approach to scientific inquiry.
